Charlotte Dujardin and Visual Cues

Dressage horse canvas print of charlotte dujardin
Charlotte came to Vancouver back in 2016 to do a Masterclass. This was my first introduction to symposiums with top dressage riders and needless to say it had a big impact!

After that clinic and watching hours of video of Charlotte riding – “Ride like Charlotte” is what I say to myself when I need to get it together; to create a forward feeling connection with short reins, to sit up and stay solid in my core so that I ride independently. This dressage horse painting of Charlotte has become my visual cue.

I believe that art in our homes can give us visual reminders every time we look at them. For dressage riders, any visual cue that reminds us to pay attention to our posture and use our core will help make our position more solid so that we will ride more independently.
